News : Consumer Court Rules in Favor of IAS Aspirant, Orders Byju's and SRK to Refund Fees and Compensate.
- A woman from Indore complained to a consumer court that she paid Rs 1.8 lakh to Byju’s for an IAS coaching course, but didn’t receive any coaching.
- She claimed that she was misled by the false and misleading online advertisements posted on behalf of the coaching company.
- The court ordered Byju’s and its promoter, Shah Rukh Khan, to return the fee with 12% annual interest, pay Rs 5,000 for litigation costs, and give Rs 50,000 in compensation for the woman’s financial and mental distress.
- The court also issued a notice to Byju’s manager and Shah Rukh Khan, instructing them to comply with the order within 30 days.
